
The National Quality Standard Awards (previously known as the White Flag Awards), have been in operation since 2001 and are the only industry specific award for the Leisure, Health and Fitness sector in Ireland. They are the most sought-after and respected accolades in the industry and awards across the three levels of Outstanding (Gold), Exceeded (Silver) and Achieved (Bronze).
The award looks at safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources. It is based on the international Blue Flag award scheme and emphasis continuous improvement and high standards across 250 criteria. The National Quality Standard is run by Ireland Active. The NQS Award Standard is a Leisure Centre & Hotel Leisure award encompassing safety, hygiene, maintenance & environment and customer care.
The Glenview Leisure Club were awarded Achieved Status in 2023/2024 as well as being shortlisted for best newcomer. We were awarded Exceeded Status for 2024/2025 as well as being awarded Most Improved Facility 2024/2025. For 2025/2026 we were awarded Outstanding (Gold) Status as well as being shortlisted as best overall Hotel Leisure Club.
The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs Ireland) has been established to professionalise the fitness industry through the promotion of standards. REPs Ireland ensures that registered members are appropriately qualified with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to perform their role effectively.
REPs Ireland accepts exercise professionals onto the professional register when they fulfil 4 key criteria:
· Achieve qualifications and awards that meet industry standards & have been independently Quality Assured
· Maintain appropriate insurance cover while practicing
· Maintain professional standing by ongoing CPD (continued professional development)
· Adhere to a professional code of conduct.
